Wales’ inaugural Housing First conference presents a follow-up event taking place online.
This was an event full of Welsh, UK and international speakers. They will highlight key problems in relation to those collaborating in the sector. It was a chance for people be a part of creating and delivering services to learn from one another and discuss the opportunities and challenges ahead.
Housing First is a well proved pattern for providing housing and support to people suffering homelessness worldwide. Along with other approaches of fast re-housing, it is at the bottom of the Welsh Government’s homelessness strategy and the Homelessness Action Group’s recommendations.
Cymorth Cymru built the Housing First Wales Network in December 2017, which went on to develop Wales-specific principles for delivery of Housing First. Last summer, the first project was successfully awarded its certificate under the Network’s new accreditation system.
