Within The Heads of the Valley area there has been a strategic project, named ”JobMatch”, running for the last 3 years which engages with disadvantaged clients and moves them from inactivity into economic activity by providing opportunities for training, volunteering, work experience, employment and career development. The project was previously developed and piloted in Blaenau Gwent and was approved for rollout across the Head of the Valley area.
This contract is for the delivery of Fit for Work Assessments for JobMatch Employment Routes Participants. To include a reliable Pre-employment screening service to identify any illness or medical barriers that may affect prospective participants ability to perform in employment and highlight conditions that are covered under the Disability Discrimination Act.
The volumes are 405 participants for 2009-2010 and 305 participants for 2011-2012.
National Skills Academies and Stakeholder Engagement Exercise

Skillsmart Retail has received funding from the Welsh Assembly Government’s Sector Priority Fund Pilot (SPFP) to establish the feasibility for creating a network of skills shops in Wales. This network would become part of the National Skills Academy for Retail. The whole project aims to investigate existing skills shops, consult with retail employers and evaluate existing provision and gaps in services. This tender concentrates on two of the nine action points of the project as a whole.

Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council are seeking suitably qualified and experienced training providers to deliver a range of courses to the participants in the Neath Port Talbot Genesis Wales 2 project. To provide a range of accredited courses mainly at Level 1 some progressing to Level 2 where necessary. Course frequency and location will vary based on the number of participants referred to NPT Genesis in an area and the participant’s needs.

The COASTAL Project is seeking to invite suitably qualified organisations to tender for the delivery of a Train the trainer – Training by Systematic Instruction course.
The COASTAL Project is a regional project involving the City and County of Swansea, who are acting as the lead sponsor, Carmarthen, Pembroke and Neath Port Talbot. The project aims at the promotion of vocational, employment, skills training and lifelong learning opportunities for individuals who are currently economically inactive as a result of illness, disability, (Mental Illness, Learning Disability, Physical Disability, Sensory Impairment) substance misuse problems and/or the serious social disadvantage associated with the transition from long-term care into adulthood.
It has been widely recognised and acknowledged the benefits TSI can have in addressing barriers to teaching people with impaired communication. Therefore the Neath Port Talbot COASTAL Team is looking to develop a core competency and consistency in approach to how the service staff assists people to learn a job in a structured proven way.
