GwirVol StreetGames Grants Scheme – Open to Applications

This new initiative is designed to help develop structured sports programmes in disadvantaged communities in Wales, by involving young people aged 16-25 as volunteers is open to applicants.  Project funding of up to £2,000 per project is available.  As well as funding, the projects will also have access to training, support and mentoring, along with qualifications including Community Sports Leadership Awards and recognition awards such as the Millennium Volunteers Award.

Welsh Assembly Government Grant for Youth Service

The Youth Service Capital Grant will be available from June 2010 subject to approval by the Welsh Assembly Government.  The purpose of the grant is to develop new opportunities in the Voluntary Sector for youth engagement and participation as described in the National Youth Service Strategy and the Neath Port Talbot Youth Service Review.  To meet the grant eligibility criteria your proposed project should enhance learning opportunities for 11-25 year olds, particularly those aged 13-19 years old.  The application pack can be downloaded from the Funding page of the website.

Neath Port Talbot Capital Grants Scheme

The scheme will provide Capital Grants from £500 to £15,000 to assist new and existing organisations including those which are hard to reach, to engage in activities which will provide longer term sustainable outcomes f or their communities.  The deadline dates for receipt of CFAP applications are 30th June 2010 and 31st October 2010.  Go to the funding page of the website for more information.

The Resolven, Clyne & Melincourt Community Project Fund

This grant scheme has been set up to support community organisations and voluntary groups, including social enterprises, based in Resolven, Clyne & Melincourt.  It has been made available by Ffynnon Oer Wind Farm Ltd, operated by RWE Npower Renewables.  The Community Foundation in Wales are co-ordinating the grant scheme. Local community organisations and voluntary groups with a base in Resolven, Clyne or Melincourt that are undertaking environmental, educational, community and charitable activities are eligible for the grant.  More information and how to apply go to the funding part of the website.

Barry Set to Become the Seventh Strategic Regeneration Area in Wales

Youth Opportunities Bank Extended Deadline

The Volunteer Centre would like to notify you of the decision to extend the deadline for applications to the youth opportunities bank by one week. This means the deadline for Neath Port Talbot CVS to receive applications is now Friday 22nd January.  This decision is due to the snow experienced in the past two weeks and the impact this has had on organisations. Firework Display Grants

Grant Applications are now being taken by NPTCBC to support community groups who organise firework displays in celebration of Guy Fawkes Night.  Eligible community groups can now apply for grants of up to £500 to organise their own firework displays and also receive help and advice on safety at the event.  Groups can find out more about this scheme by contacting Kerry Jones or Suzette Phillips on 01639 860008 or preferably via email at specialevents@npt.gov.uk.  The closing date for receipt of applications is 25th September 2009.
