Workways
What is the Workways Project?
Following the success of Workways, the Neath Port Talbot Transitional Employment Initiative, funding has been secured to provide over 9,000 economically inactive and long term unemployed people across South West Wales with back to work support.
Led by Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council in collaboration with Carmarthenshire County Council, Pembrokeshire County Council and City and County of Swansea, the South West Workways project is backed with almost £17 million from the European Social Fund through the Welsh Assembly Government.
The £25 million project will tackle the barriers that prevent individuals from accessing the labour market before matching local people with businesses, helping them gain the vital experience needed to find long term employment.
Aims
Neath Port Talbot Workways is aimed at the long term unemployed and economically inactive residents of Neath Port Talbot. The aim of the project is to suppport participants and assist them in their journey to employment.
Eligibility
Are you:
- Receiving Health related benefits?
- Unemployer for 12 months or more?
- Not working and not claiming any benefits?
- A parent looking to return to work?
- Working less than 16 hours?
- An unpaid carer?
- What are the Benefits?
If so then you are eligible for support from Workways.
By participating in the Workways project, you will get the opportunity to:
- gain jobsearch support
- have help with their CV’s
- have assistance with Application forms
- have assitance with Interview skills
- Some participants have the opportunity to access a temporary job for up to six months.
- gain a qualification to improve employability
