Reach the Heights Hub Contract for Swansea, Neath Port Talbot and Bridgend

Tenders are invited from suitably qualified and experienced organisations wishing to be considered for appointment to the role of an outreach ‘Hub’ to deliver approved educational schools outreach programmes supplied by Techniquest to the Swansea, Neath Port Talbot and Bridgend area. Details for the submission of tenders can be found in the Invitation to Tender (ITT) document.
The successful tenderer will be awarded the Reach the Heights contract to deliver Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths programmes to young people in the ‘Hub’ area until January 2013. As Reach the Heights is an ESF funded scheme Tenderers should note that the preferred Tenderer will need to accept compliance with terms of the relevant ESF grant funding to ensure that Techniquest can comply with its obligations there under.
Provision of Training Services to the Workways Project in Neath Port Talbot

Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council are seeking suitably qualified and experienced training providers to be included on a framework agreement that will deliver a range of courses to the participants in the Workways NPT project. This provision will form part of the ‘Job Focused Training’ support available through Workways.
Workways is a collaborative project between four Local Authorities in South West Wales, funded by the European Social Fund through the Welsh Assembly Government. The project is led by Neath Port Talbot Council in collaboration with Carmarthenshire Council, Pembrokeshire Council and The City & County of Swansea.
There are no restrictions on the types of training that are made available to participants as it is occupation led. For this reason, the courses undertaken will be wide ranging and cannot be predicted. Once the specific training requirements have been established, the Workways team are responsible for organising the appropriate training on behalf of the participant
Developing and piloting an advanced chef development programme (Applied Ability Awards) at Senior Chef level

What we are looking for -
An organisation to develop and pilot a learning programme to train chefs. The target market is chefs with at least five years experience in industry, qualified or working at level 3, and aspiring for promotion to senior positions.
Our aim -
We are seeking to develop a training programme that can be delivered flexibly to industry ‘on’ and ‘off the job’ with appropriate learning resources to support both the learner and the employer. The programme will be assessed at the workplace and end testing and examinations will also be a key component. The main target market is chefs in senior positions. These chefs may or may not hold recognised qualifications at or above level 3. However, they will all have spent at least five years working in an appropriate ‘level 3’ position or above.
Deliver Technium Challenge UK and International contract

Technium is a pan-Wales network of 11 innovation centres providing a supportive environment for young technology businesses with high-growth potential. Technium offers accommodation to these businesses for a period of 3-5 years to help them through the critical early years of development and growth. The Technium environment includes state-of-the-art office accommodation, direct access to business, technical and specialist support, and links to academic institutions for support with Research & Development (R&D).
Technium was set up to assist in the creation of new spin-out businesses from Welsh academia and to accelerate the development of young technology-based businesses in Wales. Technium was also developed as a mechanism to attract high value R&D inward investment projects from other areas of the UK and internationally. The contract will be for a period of 24 months, subject to a 12 month review.
