Leading Wales Awards – 2012 Round Open to Nominations

The Leading Wales Awards recognise and celebrate personal achievement in outstanding leadership and management, which helps to drive the growth of the Welsh economy.  Championing and influencing leadership development, the programme rewards individuals at all levels whose efforts have resulted in positive outcomes for their project, business or community.  Entrants from companies of all sizes, voluntary and not-for-profit groups, public sector organisations, partnerships, team leaders and young leaders aged 16-25 are welcome.  Winners will receive a trophy and certificate, together with the associated recognition, praise and media coverage. Winners are also entitled to use the ‘Leading Wales Awards Winner’ logo to boost their profile.

The deadline for nominations for the 2012 awards is 9 March 2012.

The Awards lunch and ceremony is due to take place on Thursday 31 May 2012 at Hilton Cardiff.

CIWEM Living Wetlands Award

The Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management (CIWEM) Living Wetlands programme provides awards to a range of multi-functional projects across the UK that contribute to the UK Biodiversity Action Plan (BAP), demonstrate sustainability of wetland habitats and ensure the safety of BAP priority species and habitats. An award of £1,500 is available to projects that demonstrate the sustainable use of wetland habitats. The closing date for applications is 20 January 2012. The Guardian Social Enterprise Award

The Guardian has launched a new award just for social enterprises. The awards seek out the UK’s most promising social enterprises who look set to make a big impact. The Guardian will award four outstanding finalists by showcasing the winning ideas at the Guardian Social Enterprise 2011 summit, where delegates will vote for the overall winner.

Bates Wells & Braithwaite London LLP is delighted to be involved and will be represented on the judging panel.

The deadline for entries is 11.59 on Friday 14 October 2011 and the competition results will be announced at The Guardian’s annual summit on the 8th November 2011.

Deadline Extension: Youth Volunteer Awards

Neath Port Talbot CVS and Enterprise in the Valleys are holding a Youth Volunteer Awards Evening on 9th November at Neath Port Talbot College and we are inviting organisations and members of the public to nominate those young people aged between 11 and 25 years that they feel deserve recognition for their volunteering. The deadline for nominations has been extended until Friday 30th September. The awards celebrate the hard work and dedication of young people across the County Borough of Neath Port Talbot.If you would like to nominate an individual or a group please  go to the Youth Volunteer Awards Website and complete the  nomination forms online.

 

Capturing Creativity: Pat Chown Award 2011

Eleven years ago, Community Housing Cymru set up an Award scheme to recognise housing innovation in memory of a special person – Pat Chown. Pat gave a big part of her life to helping others and spent much of her working life in helping to meet people’s housing needs in Wales. As a way of remembering Pat, her contribution to housing and her constant search for better ways of doing things, Community Housing Cymru is inviting entries for the Capturing Creativity Award.

The Award’s aim is to recognise innovation and creativity:

  • New ways of responding to day-to-day issues or dealing with common problems
  • More effective or easier ways of tackling long-standing issues
  • Creative ways of responding to the housing and related needs of the communities with which housing associations work

The winner receives an award, a £1,000 donation to a Wales-based charity of their choice, and will be announced at CHC’s Annual Conference in November in Cardiff. To enter this year’s Award please complete and sign the entry form by Friday 7th October 2011. Further copies of the entry form can be obtained on CHC’s website or by contacting Claire McDougall on 029 2055 7411 or claire-mcdougall@chcymru.org.uk. We would like to receive your entry electronically. Judges will be provided with copies of all entry forms. Any supporting information will be provided to the judges on the day that the decision is made, but will not be copied and provided to judges in advance. Therefore, you must ensure that you provide full information on the entry form.

Swansea Bay Regional Business Awards 2011 – The Search is on for the Best Businesses in the Region

The search is on for the best of the region’s businesses, as the Swansea Bay Regional Business Awards 2011 were launched at Morgans Hotel, Swansea. More than fifty members of the Swansea Bay business community gathered to launch the third annual Swansea Bay Regional Business Awards sponsored by city law firm JCP Solicitors. With six categories, the Awards will highlight and recognise the achievements of businesses and entrepreneurs who go the extra mile to attain extraordinary success and inspire others to achieve their potential. The awards which are organised by Swansea Bay Partnership are free to enter for any business located within Neath Port Talbot, Swansea and Carmarthenshire.
